Mercedes truck dealership now open for business at Wolverhampton’s Bentley Bridge Business Park

Acting on behalf of Clowes Developments, DTZ agreed the deal with Ballyvessey Holdings.  Clowes Developments have now successfully completed the development for Ballyvesey Holdings who will be using the premises for a branded Mercedes Truck dealership.  The site opened shortly after the completion of Phase 2 Bentley Bridge, Wolverhampton’s first speculatively built small unit scheme, providing 35,000 sq ft of warehouse accommodation since the recession.

The new dealership forms the final part of the newly developed Bentley Bridge Business Park which is located on Wednesfield Road.

Phase 1 of Bentley Bridge Business Park is currently fully let to chain manufacturer Donghua (UK) Ltd, Principal Hygiene, Euro Car Parts, Toolstation and Wolverhampton City Primary Care Trust.  Neighbouring Bentley Bridge Retail Park is home to Cineworld, Argos, Boots, Next and a number of restaurants.

Jonathan Robinson, Associate Director of DTZ’s commented: “Bentley Bridge has established itself as a key location for the industrial, retail and leisure sectors in Wolverhampton and Ballyvessey’s Mercedes truck dealership is a fantastic edition to the development.  We have received strong interest in the site and following the announcement of the built-to-suit transaction to Ballyvessey, we will be announcing additional success from the interest we have already received for Phase 2 where we will see the arrival of other new occupiers over the coming months.”

James Richards, Development Director, Clowes Developments commented: “We are delighted with the performance of the Bentley Bridge Business Park during the last few years.  The site has really booked the trend, delivering year on year with results, and with the completion of this development, we have now fully developed out on site which, given the recession that we have recently come through, is a testament to the quality of the business park.  We identified Midland Truck & Van/Ballyvessey Holdings as a key occupier for the scheme and have worked very closely with them to deliver a state of art facility.  We are delighted that they are now open and trading and that all the Mercedes Benz livery is in place.  With the completion of further deals due imminently on the speculative development, the park is fast heading towards being fully let.”

Nigel Birkmyre, Ballyvessey Holdings commented: “Jonathan Robinson of DTZ introduced the Bentley Bridge site to Ballyvessey Holdings for their Birmingham Mercedes Benz dealership Midlands Truck and Van and after discussion with James Richards of Clowes, we concluded a deal to construct the building to Ballyvessey/Mercedes Benz specification.

The property has been built to a high standard with environmental concerns taken into consideration in the workshop, with low voltage lights and appliances, 20% roof lights and 25% windows in the rear wall to allow technicians to work on trucks and vans without the aid of lights during daylight hours.

We are delighted with the location of the dealership and our customer base are pleased to have one of the most modern sales and aftermarket depots in the West Midlands.”
